BKPM Facilitates Over IDR 15.9 Trillion in Partnerships Between Large Corporations and UMKMs (2022-2024)
Jakarta, December 12, 2024 – The Ministry of Investment/Indonesia Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) has successfully facilitated business partnerships between large corporations and Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (UMKMs) totaling over IDR 15.9 trillion from 2022 to 2024. This initiative reflects the government’s ongoing commitment to empowering UMKMs as key drivers of inclusive and sustainable economic growth.
Under the Prabowo Subianto administration, BKPM has intensified efforts to accelerate partnerships between major investors and local UMKMs across various sectors. In the first two months of the current administration, a total of 579 partnership agreements were signed nationwide, valued at IDR 3.9 trillion. These agreements involved 158 large companies and 389 UMKMs.
BKPM Head Bahlil Lahadalia emphasized that the agency is not only focused on facilitating investment but also ensuring that such investments contribute to UMKM development through training, skills enhancement, and capacity-building programs. “We are committed to ensuring that the benefits of investment are felt by local businesses and communities, especially UMKMs,” he said during the 2024 Partnership Award event.
Since the introduction of the Online Single Submission (OSS) system, the Ministry of Investment has issued over 11.3 million Business Identification Numbers (NIBs), with more than 99% belonging to UMKMs. This significant growth demonstrates the agency’s proactive efforts to formalize and integrate UMKMs into the national economic framework.
Investment realization data from January to September 2024 shows a total of IDR 1,261.4 trillion in investments, creating job opportunities for approximately 1.8 million workers. BKPM continues to encourage both domestic and foreign investors to collaborate with UMKMs as part of their business operations in Indonesia.
